The mentor teacher shall be available to meet
with and assist beginning teacher participants a minimum of five times during
the year on an informal basis.
The mentor shall provide ongoing support and
assistance, including observations throughout the year and conduct seminars for
the new teacher in their building on such topics as district policies, grading
procedures, classroom management, instructional skills, conferencing
with parents, troubleshooting, stress management, child abuse issues and
sharing of curriculum ideas, etc.
The mentor teacher shall periodically update the
principal on the status of the beginning teacher and training that has been
provided.
