"Carving out Educational Futures"
Welcome to Glacier Valley High School. At Glacier we believe that all students can learn but that they learn differently. We work with students to discover their own learning styles, build on their strengths and develop strategies for their areas of concern. We encourage students to be self-directed learners, to achieve their goals, and to explore potential career opportunities for post-high school. We strive to meet the needs of each student and make their educational experience with us relevant and meaningful.

Personalized Learning
At Glacier we work with each student to “carve out an educational future” that is right for them. We are able to offer a nurturing environment due to our small class size and a “student centered” approach to learning. We hope to empower each student to take charge of their own learning, earn a high school diploma, and plan for their future.

Performance

Glacier’s program is based on a non-graded continuous progress concept. Each student can work at their own pace making learning more personal and performance oriented. Before advancing in course work, the student must achieve “mastery” of the content by scoring an eighty percent or better on tests and assignments. Students must show progress in order to stay in the program. The progress of each student is closely monitored and the school makes every effort to work with students and keep parents well informed. Monthly consultations are done with the teacher and each student. Copies of these progress consultations are given to each student and their parent.

Choice
Glacier Valley High school is a school of choice. Students give up the broad course offerings and electives at a traditional school for this more personal individualized approach to learning. When you enroll, you are entering into a contract with the school that states you will meet the school’s attendance, progress, and behavioral expectations in order to remain in the program.
