Athletics are an important part of student life at Chelan Middle and High School. Interscholastic Athletics provides young people with the opportunity to learn real life lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition and how to deal with both victory and defeat with grace. It is well known that athletic participation and competition are major factors in promoting school spirit, helping students develop pride in their school and developing a healthy self-concept.
This explains our excitement in announcing that the Lake Chelan School District will begin the process of re-creating the philosophy
and core values of our athletic program by engaging a cross section of students, school personnel, and community members. We
would like to invite you to attend the upcoming Athletic Forum "Sharpening our Vision" because we believe that you can provide us with valuable insight and input in this process. The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3rd, from 6·8 pm in the Community Gym Foyer and will involve students, parents, coaches, administrators, community members, and school board directors. A pizza dinner will be provided for all participants.
Together we will explore and discuss the following questions:
• Athletic Philosophy Statement:
What does our program stand for; what does it mean to be a GOAT?
• Core Values:
What tenets, values, pillars and/or guiding principles should define our program?
We hope that you will join us as we begin this exciting conversation and the process of "sharpening our vision" of our athletic program. If you have questions or need more information feel free to contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please confirm your attendance (RSVP) with Georgia Mashayekh at email@example.com. or call 682·3515 by
Monday, October 3rd.
We look forward to seeing you at the forum!
