Board Clips -SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

November 13, 2007

Present:          Jim Busey, Barb Wadkins, Ken Brunner, Siri Tift, Leah Thompson, Jim Colbert, Jeanine Butler, Larry Bowers, Jeff Peck, Lynda Foster, Scott Renick and Sondra Jacobson

 

Highlights of the special board meeting on November 13, 2007 include the following:

 

  • Completed the first superintendent evaluation for 2007/2008.

 

  • Listened to a report given by Jeanine Butler, District Improvement Facilitator, on work that has been done and future plans.

 

  • Received a revised draft of the Strategic Plan for review and input. 

 

  • Were invited to attend the All Staff Breakfast on November 26th with bus drivers starting at 7 a.m. and the rest of the staff at 7:45 a.m. It is National Education Week.

 

  • Discussed the drop out rates/report card information.

 

  • Heard that the 6th grade Holden trip is set for the day after Memorial Day.

 

  • Discussed the NCW-READY! For Kindergarten grant written by Wenatchee Valley College for five area schools to provide support to families in our area with pre kindergarten students.

 

  • Heard that the superintendent continues to look at areas to work with Manson School District to share resources.

 

  • Enrollment figures show that we are up five FTE’s from the previous month and 20 above budget at this time.

 

  • Listened to a Bond issue update from Barb Wadkins and Siri Tift.

 

  • Elected Jim Colbert as Board Chair, Siri Tift as Vice Chair and Ken Brunner as Legislative Representative.

 

  • Attended a dinner to honor Barb Wadkins for her years of service on the school board.
