Gleasman, Mick Dalan, Mike James, and
Nancy Mayer.
Highlights
of the Board Meeting on March
13, 2007 include the following:
- Mick Dalan spoke about
Classified Employees Week (March 12th – 16th). A video was shown at the HS following
the meeting called “Stepping Up For Kids”.
Jim reported that we had a breakfast in honor of Classified Staff
on Monday March 12th.
- Heard reports from
board members on their attendance at the Classified Breakfast, Employee of
the Year announcement, Winter Sports Award banquet, Miss
Lake Chelan pageant.
- Jim Busey and
Barb Wadkins walked the
potential property on Saturday, March 10th. Board members encouraged Jim to continue
research into surveys, etc.
- Mike James,
LCEA President, stated that there had been a teacher safety issue recently
and that negotiations will begin on March 14th.
- Jeff Peck
reported that the PTA Art & Science Show is on March 24th
& 25th. The next PTA
meeting is on March 20th at 6:30 p.m.
- Reported on success of
Knowledge Bowl, Science Olympiad (MS & HS),
FCCLA and FBLA teams that have qualified for State.
- Reported that the
State Auditor’s exit conference went well with no findings.
- Reminded board members
to turn in Disclosure Forms.
- Asked board about 360º
evaluations and how they would like these done.
- Parent/Teacher
conferences are scheduled for April 11th.
- Employees of the Year
were announced. Certified-Ken Barnes, and Classified-Marci
Nickell. It was
suggested that the board meeting on April 10th be cancelled
since the Chelan County Excellence Banquet is on that night in Leavenworth.
- WASL testing started
this week. There may be possible
delays at the state level regarding passing the Math and Science portions
for graduation requirements.
- WSSDA dinner is March
14th at Campbell’s
Resort. Barb
Wadkins, Leah Thompson, and Jim
Busey are attending.
- Jim Busey
recommended we delay the Strategic Plan Review until fall to tie in with
the bond levy review.
- The Kato City
exchange was discussed. Thanks to Mike Curry, Barry DePaoli
and Tori Greiner-Shelton for their work.
- Reviewed
recommendation for Visitor Policy.
- Discussed current and
future plans for Traffic Safety Education classes at CHS.
- Business Manager interviews will be held on March 22nd with
four candidates being interviewed.
- Meeting was adjourned
at 7:00 p.m. to visit
the HS to review Internet Based Learning.
