HALF-TIME COUNSELOR

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening for a half-time ESA certified counselor beginning with the 2008/2009 school year.

Minimum Qualifications to Include:

ESA Counseling Certificate

Strong counseling and leadership skills

Organizational skills

Able to communicate and work effectively with parent groups, staff and students

Able to promote high expectations and demonstrate a caring attitude

Basic Required Tasks:

ü Individual counseling based on teacher, parent and self referrals (personal and academic).

ü Coordination of services for community based counseling and outside agencies.

ü Work cooperatively with teachers to coordinate “student staffing” and resulting academic and/or behavior intervention plans.

ü Assist the building principal in the scheduling process for basic education, special education and other categorically funded programs.

ü Coordinate grade level presentations in conflict resolution, bullying and study skills.

ü Participate on committees as appropriate, including but not limited to CARE Team, Parent Advisory Council, etc.

ü Other duties as assigned.

ü Bilingual (English/Spanish) and ESL endorsement preferred.
