HOLDEN SCHOOL STAFF

Steve Marks

SteveSteve is the elementary school teacher for grades K-6. He has taught elementary for 21 years and has taught at Holden Village since 2002. Prior to teaching at Holden, he taught in districts in Oregon and Washington. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS and received a masters from Western Governors University. he loves teaching at Holden and having students in grades K-6 in one classroom. the Holden community is very supportive and involved in the educational process and the physical setting is amazing and lends itself to many outdoor activities which would be difficult to duplicate elsewhere. He can’t imagine a better place to teach.

John Sellers

SELLERSJohn is the teacher for the high school, grades 7-12. This is his 4th year teaching, but his first at the Holden School. He is endorsed in Math, Chemistry, Physics, and English. Before teaching here, he taught in schools in Virginia and Oregon. He graduated from St John’s college with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. His favorite part about teaching at Holden is the richness of the curriculum and the speedy commute.

Jeanne Heer

heerJeanne is the teacher’s aid and helps out both the elementary and high school with art, physical education, organization, and many other things. This is her 25th year teaching and her first year at the Holden School. Prior to teaching at Holden, she taught 1st and 2nd grade at Woodland Elementary in Minnesota. She received a BA degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and a MA Degree from Bethel University. She enjoys hiking, skiing, singing, canoeing and one of her favorite children’s books is Old Turtle. back
