The National Honor Society will meet today at lunch in Mr. Bov’s room to discuss plans for subverting the dominant paradigm.

 

Today is the special meeting for any FCCLA member planning to help with the Safety Fair.  TATU members participating in the Safety Fair should also attend.  Meet in Mrs. Keathley’s room during advisory and lunch today. If you do not attend, you will not be able to help with the Safety Fair.  Be there!

 

There will be an important senior class meeting next Monday in the PAC during Period 4.   The main topic will be the graduation ceremony –all seniors are required to attend.

 

 FBLA Homesite Testing will be next Monday, Feb.4, 3:30-5:30pm in rooms 204 & 205.

 

There will be a HS Tennis meeting at lunch on Wednesday, February 6th in Room 162 (Mr. Rothlisberger’s room).

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

For Seniors:  Students are needed to assist with AAU tournaments. This helping with the tournament clean-up duties on Sunday afternoons.

The money raised is goes toward grad night activities.

 

For All Students:  Volunteers are needed for the Northwest Cup Ski Race on the weekend of February 9th and 10th.  You will receive some training, and be provided with a lift ticket, lunch and earn a voucher for a lift ticket for another day.  See Mr. DePaoli if interested in any of these opportunities.

 

 For All Students:The Lake Chelan Eagles are in need of servers and bussers for their Sweetheart Ball, Saturday, February 9,  from 4:30 to 7:30pm.  Please contact Bebee Swanson at 670-1508 or check with Mrs. Nickell in the Counseling Office.

 

CAREER CENTER NEWS:

Seniors:  Two new local scholarships have been added to the Senior Scholarship Packet:  Eastern Star and Douglas County Pomona Grange.  Come to the Career Center for specific applications.

Lake Chelan High School has an opening for the 2007-2008 school year for an assistant high school tennis coach, dependent on numbers. 

 

Lake Chelan High School has an opening for the 2007-2008 school year for an assistant high school track coach.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening for adult ed programs funded by the Washington Apple Commission for the 2007/2008 school year only:

Classified bilingual (English/Spanish) Para educator to provide adult ed computer classes for three hours per night, 1 day per week for 20 weeks.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a full time Alternative High School Teacher at Glacier Valley High School.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a half-time certified music teacher with skills in both choral and instrumental music.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a secondary English teacher.  Contact the district office for more details.

 

Lake Chelan School District has an opening, beginning with the 08/09 school year, for a middle school (7th grade) teacher to teach language arts, social studies and reading.
