STAFF & STUDENTS:

Congratulations to the HS Knowledge Bowl team for placing 4th at Regionals!  They earned a berth at the State Tournament on March 22, in Spokane.  Team members were Forest Brown, Hank Burton, Mason George, Anna Greiner-Shelton and Scott Petersen.

 

Seniors, today is the deadline to turn your baby pictures for the yearbook in to Mr. Robinson or Cassi Clark.

 

The FBLA meeting at lunch is cancelled today.

 

If you are interested in going on a Costa Rican adventure into a tropical rain forest in June of 2009, then please come to a meeting in Mrs. Sheehan’s room 209 today, February 26, at 11:15am.  This is for anyone in 6 -10th grades.

 

Tennis players meet on the tennis courts today for practice at 3:30pm.

Attention seniors: the priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA (for most colleges) is March 1st.  If you have not started this process and aren’t sure how to do so please see Mrs. Linehan or Mrs. Parsley.  Seniors can fill their FAFSA out online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  

 

The American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, March 18, in the CHS/MS Commons.  You can save up to 3 lives if you donate blood.  If you donate you can receive community service credit.  If you are interested, please call 1-800-Give-Life.  Remember that you must be at least 16 with parents’ permission.  Talk to TJ Sandum or Liz Moran if you have any questions.  You can pick up permission slips from Mrs. Johnson or Mrs. Taylor.

 

Community Service opportunity- Help is needed for the youth wrestling tournament Saturday, March 8th.  If you are interested in earning community service hours, please see Mr. Gleasman.

Junior and Senior girls:  Cottey College reps will be visiting CHS on March 4th during advisory.  If you are interested in learning about a unique college experience just for women, please stop by Mrs. Nickell’s office to sign up.

Lake Chelan School District has an opening for a special education Para educator at the secondary level for the remainder of the 07/08 school year. 

 

Lake Chelan High School has an opening for a long term certified substitute beginning about March 24, 2008 through May 30, 2008 to teach world history, Latino history and CWP.  Requirements include a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.

 

Lake Chelan School District has an opening for a National Board Facilitator/Mentor to provide assistance to certified staff in Lake Chelan School District pursuing National Board Certification. 

 

Chelan High School has an opening for a head high school girls’ soccer coach beginning with the 2008/2009 school year. 

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening for adult ed programs funded by the Washington Apple Commission for the 2007/2008 school year only:

Classified bilingual (English/Spanish) Para educator to provide adult ed computer classes for three hours per night, 1 day per week for 20 weeks.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a full time Alternative High School Teacher at Glacier Valley High School.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a half-time certified music teacher with skills in both choral and instrumental music.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a secondary English teacher.  Contact the district office for more details.

 

Lake Chelan School District has an opening, beginning with the 08/09 school year, for a middle school (7th grade) teacher to teach language arts, social studies and reading.
