The FCCLA sponsored Safety Fair is going on all day in the Community Gym today.

 

There will be a HS Tennis meeting today at lunch in Room 162 (Mr. Rothlisberger’s room).

 

”Stand up for CHS!”  Get in the Green Zone and support CHS students at all home contests……….See what it is all about Friday at lunch in room 156. Be there to take a stand!!

 

It’s almost Valentine’s Day again.  It’s time to buy a rose for that special friend - your teachers, your sweetheart or your best friend.  Long stemmed roses, with a card, will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.  On sale during lunch.

 

Attention Seniors:  If you want your baby picture in the yearbook you need to turn your pictures into Mr. Robinson or Cassi Clark ASAP.  They need to be in February 26!!

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

For Seniors:  Students are needed to assist with AAU tournaments. This is helping with the tournament clean-up duties on Sunday afternoons.  The money raised goes toward grad night activities.

 

For All Students:  Volunteers are needed for the Northwest Cup Ski Race on the weekend of February 9th and 10th.  You will receive some training, and be provided with a lift ticket, lunch and earn a voucher for a lift ticket for another day.  See Mr. DePaoli if interested in any of these opportunities.

 

For All Students:  The Lake Chelan Eagles are in need of servers and bussers for their Sweetheart Ball, Saturday, February 9, from 4:30 to 7:30pm.  Please contact Beebe Swanson at 670-1508 or check with Mrs. Nickell in the Counseling Office.

 

CAREER CENTER NEWS:

Navy Recruiter Doug Tangen will be visiting CHS during lunch on Thursday.  If you’d like to learn more about Navy Career Opportunities, stop by the HS hallway.

 

Seniors:  Two new local scholarships have been added to the Senior Scholarship Packet:  Eastern Star and Douglas County Pomona Grange.  Come to the Career Center for specific applications.

Chelan High School has an opening for a head high school girls’ soccer coach beginning with the 2008/2009 school year. 

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening for adult ed programs funded by the Washington Apple Commission for the 2007/2008 school year only:

Classified bilingual (English/Spanish) Para educator to provide adult ed computer classes for three hours per night, 1 day per week for 20 weeks.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a full time Alternative High School Teacher at Glacier Valley High School.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a half-time certified music teacher with skills in both choral and instrumental music.

 

Lake Chelan School District #129 has an opening beginning with the 2008/2009 school year for a secondary English teacher.  Contact the district office for more details.
