Rivalry Success

The girls varsity softball team traveled up to Cascade April 17th for one of their biggest game and wins of the season. Last month they played Cascade at home for their first league game. They ended up losing 3 - 2 for their only loss of the season. They started to get their bats going and getting less strikeouts and errors per game. The girls went up to Cascade and wanted to show them who they were. This was by far the most exciting game you could have watched all season. The Chelan Lady Goats havewon CTL League Championship for the third year in a row.
Congratulations to the fastpitch team!

Chelan Boys Win Playoff Opener!

Chelan soccer opened the district playoffs with a convincing 6-2 win over Bridgeport. The Goats finished second in the CTL, with a regular season record of 14-2, just behind Brewster. That seeded them #4 to districts, and with the win, the team moved on to face Lakeside yesterday afternoon in a winner-to-state game.

Time To Shine In 2009!

“Time To Shine in 2009” is the new phrase that our new
girls’ basketball head coach is using. Mr. Robinson received
the head coaching job this month and has been very busy
trying to get things put together, meeting with the girls, and
more. He has a great personality and knowledge of the game. He is definitely coaching material, and is someone who willhelp build this program even better. Robinson played for the University of Washington, coached high school girls
basketball at his old school, and has coached AAU here in Chelan. Photo by: R. Uhlhorn

Baseball Boys Advance To Playoffs!

The boys’ varsity baseball team finally made it out of regular season ball in 2008. The young Chelan Goats baseball team will only lose one player this year and figures to be even stronger next year. Roy Figueroa is standout pitcher, and a third baseman and has led the charge to the postseason. The boys had a great season this year, going 8-6 in league play and 10-10 overall. Clearly, the program appears to have turned the corner to building a successful tradition. The girls’ softball team likes to give the boys a hard time, but the boys have put in the time and effort this year and have been rewarded with a trip to the playoffs. Their journey began yesterday with a doubleheader in Colfax. Congratulations, boys! Photo courtesy of Jim Burbery
