Career Guidance Counselors Association
Award: CGCA will award two $250 scholarships to qualified graduating seniors.

  • Currently pursuing a career in the construction industry,

North Central Home Builders Association (NCHBA) Varies-starting at $500.

Criteria:

  • Must be a Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan County resident.
  • At least a graduating senior, applying to an accredited vocational, 2-year or 4-year college or university.
  • Be pursuing a degree by taking multiple courses in a field of study that enhances their education and benefits the building trades. Such fields may include association management, government affairs, architecture, engineering, business or other housing-related studies.
  • Verification of enrollment in school will be necessary before scholarship funds are released.
  • This scholarship focuses on school and community participation and is not directed solely toward academic performance. The two scholarship winners will be forwards to the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) for possible additional awards.

The Paul R. Wineman Scholarship 2008 Awards: One $1,000 and at least four awards of $250. each.

Criteria:

· Male students who will be attending the University of Washington beginning in the fall of 2008.

Although it is being presented by Phi Kappa Psi, membership or a commitment of membership in the Phi Kappa Psi is not a requirement to win a scholarship. All young men who will be attending the U of W this fall are strongly encouraged to apply.

Leadership 1000 (College Success Foundation) Awards: Maximum scholarship amounts will be established annually for students attending public community colleges, public four-year and independent institutions. Scholarships are expected to average approximately $5,000 per year per student, or $20,000 for a four-year program. Scholarships will be awarded for four years of full-time undergraduate study, subject to a recipient's continued eligibility.

Criteria: Low income, enrolled high school seniors who have applied or been accepted into a four year college/university or enrolled college freshmen or sophomores can apply for a Leadership 1000 Scholarship. Students must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Criteria:

· Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a high school located in Chelan County, WA.
· Student must have maintained an academic grade point average of 3.0 or better.
· Applicant must be in need of financial assistance over and above what parents can reasonably provide.
· Student must have successfully completed entrance requirements and must have been accepted by the accredited college, university or vocational school of their choice.

Award: $1,500

Criteria:

· Student must be pursuing higher education in natural recourses (i.e. fisheries, forestry, wildlife, botany, geology, soil sciences, watershed sciences, ecology, and environmental education/recreation).

· Applicants must attend high school in one of the following counties: Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Kittitas, Okanogan or Yakima.

· Minimum accumulative grade point average of 2.5 and been accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year college or university by the time the scholarship is awarded.

The National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW)



Award:  $1,000

Criteria: 

·       Recipient must attend Wenatchee Valley College or Central Washington University during the 2008-2009 academic year.

·       Recipient must be a U.S. citizen and have been a resident of either Chelan or Douglas County  for the past three years.

·       Recipient may not be a member of NAPMW and may not be related to a member of NAPMW.
·       While preference will be given to applicants who express a desire to enter into a profession in the real estate/mortgage industry and/or its related fields (e.g. real estate, banking, lending, insurance, title insurance, escrow, appraisal, home/pest inspections, etc.), general business students are encouraged to apply.

PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES OF WASHINGTON/SEIU LOCAL 1948 (PSE) 2007 Dependent Scholarship

This scholarship provides financial assistance after high school to dependents of PSE members, including grandchildren, interested in continuing their education. Scholarships are awarded based on many factors including financial need, academic achievement, leadership and service.

Awards: Fifteen scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded.

Criteria:

· An IRS-dependent of a PSE member in good standing.
· A high school senior or equivalent (i.e., private school, privately tutored, G.E.D., or accredited correspondence school), who plans to enroll, by the fall term following the granting of the scholarship, as a full-time student in an accredited institution. Accredited institutions include universities, community colleges, trade and vocational schools or

· Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate institution such as a university, community college, trade or vocational school.

SEMI Pacific Northwest Steering Committee

Award: Three $2,000 scholarships

Criteria:

· Applicants are in their senior year of high school (Idaho, Oregon, Washington, or Utah) or have accumulated sufficient credits to qualify for senior level status, and must be pursuing a degree in a high technology related curriculum upon entrance to college.

· Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better at their graduating high school or approved institution.
· Applicants must be pursuing a major such as, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or an Education degree with a focus on teaching math or science.

· Applicants must be U.S. citizens or authorized permanent residents of the U.S.

Washington Award for Vocational Excellence (WAVE)

Awards: tuition expenses for six (6) quarters or four (4) semesters at public four-year institutions, or licensed private vocational schools.

1. Recipients can use their award for any valid educational expenses, such as tuition, books, supplies, room, board, transportation, or miscellaneous personal expenses. Student must maintain a term grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 to continue using the award.

    · The applicant’s parent/legal guardian must be an active full-time Associate with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for at least twelve consecutive months as of April 25, 2008.

    · Applicant must have scored at least 22 Composite ACT or 1030 SAT (Critical Reading or Verbal + Math) scores.
    · Applicant must be enrolled in a full time (At least 12 college credit hours) undergraduate degree program beginning in the fall 2008 semester and all subsequent semesters during the tenure of this program.

    · Applicants planning to attend two-year institutions must agree in writing to transfer to a four-year institution by the beginning of the third academic year.

    · Recipients are required to maintain a 3.0 term grade point average [GPA] in at least 12 earned college credit hours per semester, send term grade transcripts immediately upon completion of each term, and notify the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club Foundation of changes affecting the payment process to maintain eligibility.
