Senior Presentation Format (14
Minutes)
This project is
designed specifically to allow graduating seniors to reflect upon where they
have come from, where they are presently, and where they are going in the
future.
This is a possible
format for students as they begin to organize their Senior Presentation. However, regardless of the format, students
should include all of the information listed below.
Section 1- Introduction
(approximately 2 minutes)
In this section you should explain a little about you and
your family. Some topics you
could
include would be:
-who are
the members of your family -where
you grew up
-what your
plans are for the future -what
specific career to do see yourself pursuing
Section 2 Strengths Evaluation (approximately 2
minutes)
In this section you should evaluate yourself as to what
skills/ knowledge / personality traits that you now have that will benefit you
in your future career choice.
In this section it will be a requirement for you to share an
example of work that you have done at CHS that demonstrates your
potential. This work does not have to be
directly related to your future career plans, but it should clearly demonstrate
your abilities as a student and a person and directly relate to the strengths
you mentioned above.
Section 3 Weakness Evaluation
(approximately 2 minutes)
You should explain the skills / experiences that you think
you still need to explore or continue to develop with regard to your future
career choice. What suggestions could
you make for CHS to address those weaknesses?
Section 4 What
is your next step? (approximately
3 minutes)
In this section you should explain
what you have planned as your next step.
Some topics that you could
include would be:
-Your plan for next year -Your five year goal
-Your ten year goal -significant
future experiences you are
planning (travel,
internships, etc)
Section 5- How has your high school
experience prepared you for your future career choice (approximately 3 minutes)
Some topics that you could include
would be:
-ASVAB test results -Transition Plan -Clubs / Activities
-Awards you have
received -Community Service -specific classes
-Running Start / Skills
Center / Cornerstone Program -specific
experiences
-WASL Test results -specific teachers
Section 6- “Words of Wisdom”
(approximately 2 minute)
-What are the significant changes you would have made in
your high school career?
-What words of advice would you give
to upcoming graduates?
-What is one accomplishment at CHS
you are particularly proud of?
Misc. Comments
1. Please keep in mind that this is a 14 minute
presentation and the majority of your presentation (approximately should be
spent explaining the topics in sections 4&5. Don't spend a large percentage of your time on
other sections as you will be stopped exactly at 14 minutes.
2. You will be required to use PowerPoint as
a guide for your presentation and you should hand out your portfolio at the
beginning of your presentation.
3. This is a presentation not a speech. Make sure you share information with us not
just read to us. This will mean that you
will have to practice your presentation before you give it to the class.
