Take the name of the scale and go down one ½ step.

Find that note in the order of sharps.
·
Include that sharp and all others to the left of it in
the order of sharps.
How many flats are in the scale?

Find the name of the scale in the order of flats.
·
Move one place to the right in the order of flats.

Include that flat and all others to the left of it in
the order of flats.
