For
Immediate Release –The
Manson Grange Hall was the site of the Sub District VII Creed Speaking Career
Development Event. The Manson Grange has
hosted this contest for almost 40 years and as always the event kicked off with
a potluck dinner for contestants, their families and their FFA advisors. Eleven members representing the
The Creed
Speaking CDE is open to freshmen and sophomore first year members in FFA and
requires them to perform the FFA Creed and answer questions about the creed and
its meaning to the speakers. It is
usually the most nerve wracking for contestants because it is their first
speaking contest. All the competitors
did a great job from the first “I believe…” to the answer of the last
question.
When the
judges had tabulated their scores, it was Sammi Jo
Cool from Chelan bringing home the first place banner. Other placers included
Lydia Zapethia, Eastmont 2nd;
Joseph Green, Cashmere 3rd; Kelsey Gibbs, Eastmonth
4th, and Beth Solinger, Cashmere
alternate. The top four speakers will
advance to the District VII Leadership CDE on April 9th in Chelan to
compete for the three spots to the State CDE held in
