February 16th-23rd is National FFA Week.  Join the Chelan Chapter of the National FFA in celebrating Blue Jackets and Bright Futures.  Today you will see FFA members in the hall with Greenhands. This Greenhand shows that they have joined the other half a million plus members of the National FFA Organization from over 7200 chapter nationwide. Congratulate them on their choice to make a difference in their lives and the future of our country. 

 

FFA Fact of the Day:  Last year Collectively, FFA members earn over $4 Billion annually through their Supervised Agriculture Experience Projects.  Chelan FFA members earned over $240,000 from their SAE projects.

The Chelan FFA is one of the original 9 Charter Chapters in the Washington State FFA Association chartered in 1931.  Since that time, over 4200 young men and women from Chelan High School have worn the blue Jacket, the symbol of the FFA, including our own Mr. Harris, Mr. Gleasman, and Mr. Cool.   You, too, can be a part of the tradition, the success, and the commitment that is the Chelan FFA.  Contact an FFA member, Mr. Quick, or  Mr. Cool to find out how to get your blue jacket and plan your bright future.

 

 

FFA Fact of the Day.  In 2007,  FFA membership was over 500,000 members in 7358 Chapters in the US, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands.

Tonight the Chelan FFA will host a Donkey Basketball Game at 7:00 PM in the Community Gym.  Come out and see the Chelan FFA take on the rest of CHS.  The Cheerleaders, ASB Officers,  FBLA Officers,  Miss Lake Chelan Royalty and More.  All proceeds of the game go to Former FFA member,  Tyler Dublin to help pay for medical bills after a car wreck he had in December.  Get your tickets from any FFA member or buy yours at the door. 

 

 

FFA Fact of the Day:  The National FFA Foundation awards over $2 million dollars in Scholarships annually for graduating high schools seniors pursuing higher education.

Today is FFA Pride Day.  The Chelan FFA would like to thank all the students and staff of Chelan High School for helping us celebrate all that is the FFA during National FFA Week and for your support the entire year.   FFA members will travel to MOE this afternoon for a Project Pals mentoring activity with the fourth graders.  If this type of community service project sounds like fun to you, take a look at the FFA.  

 

FFA Fact of the Day—In 1969, girls were first allowed to join the FFA. Today they make up over 40% of the membership and serve in over half of the leadership positions.
