Kato Exchange

Over the past six years, the community of Chelan has been involved in a student exchange with its sister city, Tojo, Japan. Three delegations of students from Chelan Middle and High Schools have hosted Japanese students, and later traveled to Tojo to reunite with their international friends. Recently Tojo has joined with two other small cities to create one large city now known as Kato. This change has not effected the exchange process in any way other than, instead of the Tojo exchange, it's now the Kato exchange. Through this unique experience, students and community members alike have had the opportunity to learn about different cultures firsthand, while creating
life-long friendships.

The 2008 Chelan delegation will be visiting our sister city in July 2008.
