Description:
Science Team is an opportunity for
students to participate in the high school division of Science Olympiad
competitions. Competitions usually involve 20-25 different events
which pairs of students prepare for previously; some competitions
involve bringing a project that has been constructed ahead of time,
while others involve laboratory activities or tests of knowledge
in specific subject areas. The many different fields of science
are represented in the events, from astronomy to zoology and everything
in-between! Each student is usually involved in 3 to 4 events which
they become "expert" in during their preparation. Currently
we compete at the Regional level and attempt to qualify for the
State competition (which could lead to qualifying for the National
competition).
