INSTRUCTOR: Mrs. CAROL KEATHLEY/ 682-4061/keathley@chelanschools.org
www.chelanschools.org
______________________________________________________________________
GRADING: Your grade is determined by points earned
on assignments, quizzes, tests, class participation, projects and
attendance. Points you earn will be
tallied and compared with the total points possible, then converted to a
percentage to determine your letter grade.
EXAMPLE:
100-90% = A
80-89% = B 500 = total
points possible in term 70-79% =
C 470 = your points
earned in term
60-69% = D 470/500 = 94% = letter grade of A
0-59% = F
If
you have a borderline grade, a 1% bonus will be given to any student with no
missing work.
______________________________________________________________________
ATTENDANCE: Work can be made up for excused absences
only and must be submitted for credit within two days after the absence. Points will be earned for daily attendance. The attendance grade is in jeopardy after 5
days for a quarter class, 10 days for a semester class, and 15 days for a year
long class. If excessive absences threaten credit, time and assignments missed
must be made up before or after school.
If work missed during a school-related absence is successfully
completed, that absence will not be included when computing your grade. Work missed due to school-related absences
must be obtained before the absence. Participation
in lab must be made up and can be arranged with the teacher individually. Class activities such as discussions and group
work are awarded participation points.
If you are absent, you lose those participation points!
______________________________________________________________________
TARDIES: If you are tardy unexcused, a 15 minute
“working” detention is assigned. If the
assigned detention is missed, the time is doubled. If detention is missed a third time, a
disciplinary referral will be filed.
When you are late, in the space provided on the whiteboard, write your
name, date, and date you plan to serve your detention. Also indicate if you will be coming in before
or after school.
______________________________________________________________________
ASSIGNMENTS: Work will be collected on the due date. Work may be turned in late for partial credit
on the next day, unless the
assignment is used or graded in class on the due date. It is the student’s responsibility to turn
late work into the Late Work/Absent Box for the class. Priority is given to grading on time work. Credit for late work will be awarded before
the end of the term. If work is late due
to excused absence, write ABSENT and the
date of absence on your work when you turn it into the Late Work/Absent
Box. Absent work will be graded as
soon as possible. Assignment handouts
with your name and the date of absence will be placed in the Late Work/Absent
Box for your class. Assignments for each
class will be posted daily on the whiteboard.
It is the student’s responsibility to assure that they retrieve
and complete this work as well as inquire about other class activities missed
during an absence.
