GRADING: Your grade is
determined by points earned on assignments, quizzes, tests, class
participation, projects and attendance.
Points you earn will be tallied and compared with the total points
possible, then converted to a percentage to determine your letter grade. Letter grades will be earned based on a 10%
scale, with 60% being the lowest possible passing grade. If you have a borderline grade, 1% bonus will
be given to any student with no missing work.
Leadership points are required for each student. In addition to the required 50 points, a
student may earn up to 50 more leadership points (optional) as extra credit.
ATTENDANCE:
1.
Students are
expected to attend class on a regular basis and to be punctual. Poor attendance can have a negative effect on
your grade.
2.
Students
entering class late or not in their seats when the bell rings will be marked
tardy. The first and second tardy with
result in an after school working
detention (1st tardy-15
minutes, 2nd tardy – 30 minutes).
The third tardy will result in a discipline referral to the office.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1.
Students may
make up missed written work (due to absence); but since valuable classroom
activities cannot be made up, the overall grade will reflect the
absences.
2.
It is the
student’s responsibility to obtain make up assignments from me and collect work
from the absent work box within two days of returning to class.
3.
Work may be
turned in one day late for 50% credit.
4.
Unless special
circumstances occur, there will be no test retakes.
5.
Extra credit
will be available in the form of leadership points (in addition to the required
