COURSE OBJECTIVES

Each student will:

1.       understand and apply concepts and procedures for Business Mathematics

2.       construct solutions

3.       organize and interpret information

4.       relate concepts and procedures within mathematics to business situations.

5.       problem-solve using technology

6.       learn how the stock market operates and how to invest money

7.       write checks and balance a checkbook

8.       use mathematical formulas to calculate capital gains or losses, earnings per share, price/earnings ratios, dividend yield, revenue per employee and total investments

9.       graph and chart NYSE stocks as part of a technical analysis

Professionalism is an important part of any career – especially in the business world!.  Each student must learn how to be professional in many different roles.  Students who come to class prepared, on-time, and ready to learn are considered “Professional.”  Students will be rewarded and disciplined according to their professional behavior in this course.  Points will be added or subtracted from their notebook total for the following:
