Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to view this website to find out what's happening in English class. Your interest and involvement have a powerful influence on your child's education. This website is designed to provide important information and to keep students and parents informed about class work, requirements and expectations. I encourage you to work with your child on some of the online activities linked to this site, and to play the role of editor during a variety of writing tasks. Ask a variety of different questions to spark critical and creative thought, and to help your child make connections. Patience is important, as students' brains are busy developing new ways of thinking, processing, and communicating experience, information and opinions.
I am always looking for ways to make the study of language and literature practical and hands-on. If you know of any activities, projects, speakers or meaningful community experiences that would benefit students, I would like to hear from you. We learn by doing...
