HYPaTIA
stands for "HYPerbole and Truth In Advertising". It
is a culminating project for my AP Statistics class wherein students
learn to read print ads and understand the sales and marketing
techniques used in those ads.
They
then select an ad that makes a statistically-testable claim, design
and carry out a study to test that claim, present their findings
in a Power Point presentation, and produce their own version of
the ad they chose, reflecting the 'truth' about the claim that
was made.
