assignments with their parents. On these
occasions, students will bring home an assignment sheet with instructions for
completing the assignment. These
assignments relate to lessons that are covered in class and are intended to
promote communication about the topic we are currently covering.
Attendance:
1.
Since this
class is designed to assist students with career skills, attendance and
punctuality are very important. Missed
written work may be made up, but since
valuable classroom activities cannot be
made up, the overall grade may reflect the
absences.
2.
Students
entering class late or not in their seats when the bell rings, will be marked
tardy.
The first two tardies will result in after school detention ( 1st
tardy - 15
minutes, 2nd tardy - 30
minutes). The third tardy will result in
a discipline referral.
3.
It is the
student’s responsibility to obtain make-up assignments from me for absent
days within two days of returning to
class.
Discipline:
1.
Professionalism
is a necessary quality for workers in many careers. Students are
expected to behave in a professional
manner in this class.
2.
Disruptive
behavior will not be tolerated. Students
will receive a verbal warning
from me for a minor discipline
problem. Repeated or serious problems
will be
referred to the office and the parent
will be notified.
Grading:
Grading
will be based upon the following:
35% - daily assignment/activities, 30% -
hospital clinics, 30% - tests, 5% - extra credit
