COURSE OUTLINE
FOR
C.A.D.D.
Course description: This is an independent class in which students must
manage and monitor their own time. The purpose of this course is to familiarize
students with advanced drafting techniques using a computer. These skills include
layout, nomenclature, rendering views …etcetera. The student will familiarize
themselves with the program using a tutorial. Then they will create working
drawings of a product. Using the drawings they must build a scale model. Second
semester students will use the program to design architectural drawings of
their dream house.
Instructor: Mr. Quick
Materials needed: Binder with folders to keep drawings
safe, three floppy disks for back-up.
Student responsibilities:
1. Students must
conduct themselves in a safe and productive manor at all times in this course.
2. Must show up
to class on time and prepared. Failure to do so will result in a lower grade
and possible detention.
3. Every student
is required to create a folder or web page that contains all drawings and
drawing critiques.
Grading:
The
grading in this course is based on work produced.
First semester: First progress
report = all tutorials completed
End
of first quarter = Research and four (half) of the working drawings.
Second
progress report = All working drawings completed (8)
End
of semester = Scale Model of product completed.
Drawings= 10% each or 80% total
Scale model = 15%
Research = 5%
