Second Semester Auto CADD

For this portion of the course you will be using your Auto CADD skills to design and draw your dream house. You will need to draw eight drawings total for the semester. That means to stay caught up you need two drawings at progress report time, two more drawings at the quarter, two more at second progress report, and the last two drawings at the end of the quarter. Since this is an independent study class there is some leeway in the due dates. The dates that really count are, four drawings done at the end of the quarter and eight drawings done at the end of the semester. Make sure and budget your time wisely, these drawings cannot be done quickly. It is a good idea to turn them in several weeks before the deadline so that I can grade it and you can make changes to get a better grade. All drawings must have a boarder, with your name, title of drawing, number of drawing, and the date. Each drawing is worth 100pts. There are 800pts. Possible this semester.

The drawings are:

1. Plot Plan: Must have a real legal description from a property that exits, grade/slope, driveways, path of utilities (power, phone, water, septic), out buildings, house position, landscaping, and retaining walls.

2. Floor Plan (one for each floor of the house including the basement): Must be drawn to scale, have dimensions, room labels, must meet building code requirements, show all fixed appliances, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, doors, fireplaces, heaters, water heater, air conditioning, water conditioning, windows, stairs, closets, porches and decks, swimming pools, and counter tops. You may also want to put in some furniture, like pool tables, but it is optional.

3. Joist Plan: Must meet building code. See the example in the book.

4. Plumbing Plan: Three dimensional layout of all pipes, stacks, and drains. See example in the book of Modern Architecture.

5. Wiring Plan: Must meet building code for residential structures. Used dashed lines for wires and correct architectural symbols fixtures, outlets, and switches.

6. Wall Detail Plan: Show a cut away section of your house wall, floor, and footing. Structure must meet building code.

7. Front view of the house.

8. Side view of the house.
