What's new at MOE?

Help with Girls on the Run
Over thirty 4th, 5th and 6th graders from Chelan and Manson have been participating in Chelan Valley Girls on the Run for twelve weeks during Afters at MOE and Manson Elementary. The group is sponsored by Columbia Valley Community Health.
They are looking for “Running Buddies” for the Manson Pig Jig on May 10 (before the Manson Apple Blossom Parade.)
If you are planning to run the Pig Jig and you would like to support Girls on the Run by being a Running Buddy or a race volunteer, please contact Shelley Wold at swold@cvch.org, or for more information about Girls on the Run:http://www.girlsontherun.org/

Healthy Youth Survey

This fall, the Healthy Youth Survey is coming. The survey will be administered during the week of October 13-17, 2008, to all students in grades 6,8,10, and 12. Chelan students will be participating. To learn more about this survey, visit the Healthy Youth Survey homepage: www.hys.wa.gov

Congratulations Mr. Peck!!

Our very own Jeff Peck, Morgen Owings Elementary Principal, has been chosen as one of three to receive the “Most Effective Administrator Award”. This award is sponsored by the Washington State Association of School Administrators (WASA). Mr. Peck was competing with superintendents, central office administrators, and principals in the state of Washington. The three winners will be splitting the $10,000 award, to be used for personal or professional growth. These winners will be honored at the WASA Conference in Yakima on March 3rd.
