Current Events Course Description

Mr. Linehan     Room 206

Current Events is a semester long exploratory class that is built around up-to-date newspaper articles (primarily from the Wenatchee Daily World), Internet articles and television news.   Classes are an integration of language, social studies and reading.  Classes are graded on daily quiz work and note-taking organization.

The reading portion of the class will focus on reading for comprehension.  A variety of articles are selected each day for students to read.  This is followed with a segment of the morning news taped daily.

Students are allowed to take notes as they cover the information presented to them which they may use on the quiz.
