In the sixth grade exploratory class we will be involved in a variety of activities to learn about the world around us. Your child will be involved in studying:

v Current events

v Math problem solving

v Weekly Reader

v Chess/backgammon

v Critical thinking activities

v Careers

Grading Policy

v 50% participation-10 points/day

v 50% graded assignments

Parents will be notified if their child loses more than ½ of the participation points for the day.

v A = 90-100%

v B = 80-89%

v C = 70-79%

v D = 60-69%

v F = 59% and below

Absence Policy

When absent, student will need to check with me to see if anything needs to be made up. Some things will be experiential in nature and cannot be made up, while others are project based and must be completed for a grade. They will be given the same number of days as they were absent to complete these missing assignments.
