Daisy Monje is the daughter of Cristina Valdovinos and Audel and Rosalina Monje. Daisy is a member of the Interact club and has been an officer in the past. Daisy spends her Sundays volunteering at her church RealLife, in the sound booth. She was also a part of a mini missions trip in Spokane which was life changing. In her spare time she enjoys running, practicing self-taught yoga, and writing posts for her blog, “Words & Stuff”. After graduation, Daisy plans to go to a University to become a nurse. A step closer to her dream of becoming a travel nurse, where she hopes to live in all 50 states of the U.S.
Daisy’s favorite TV show is Grey’s Anatomy and her favorite movie is Instant Family. Her favorite song is “How Can It Be” by Lauren Daigle and her favorite book is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. She is most inspired by her dad and her most treasured keepsake is a memory box in the shape of a Daisy where she keeps symbolic memories. For example, the box of her 16th birthday cake she was gifted by her travel guide, Aspacia, in Italy.
Daisy’s favorite thing to do in Lake Chelan is to get shaved ice and drive on backroads with her roof off, all while blasting Katy Perry. Daisy’s proudest moment in life to date is deciding to go back to church. She believes her faith is at an all time high which has allowed her to have a new outlook in life. If Daisy could trade places with anyone for a day, she would trade places with Anne Frank. Daisy feels she should represent Lake Chelan because she strives to be a better person by sharing joy and spreading kindness with everyone around her. Although she has not lived in Chelan her whole life, she has grown to love this town along with everyone in it. She believes she is a good role model and would be honored to represent her community.
