Check out what’s happening at MOE and CMS!

Did you know…?

The Afters Program began serving the Lake Chelan School District strictly as an after school enrichment program. Reading (literacy) and math classes were added at MOE to assist students who were not meeting grade level expectations. Afters also expanded to CMS.

One 3rd grade teacher wrote, My students are excited, engaged, and grateful for the opportunity! When asked to rate S.T.E.A.M. classes thus far this year, all students gave a thumbs up! Thank you for instilling a love for learning!”

All students from Kindergarten to 5th grade really enjoy the hands-on learning provided by our Afters S.T.E.A.M. Team! Thank you to Miss Jill (Art), Mr. Gomez (Art), Mrs. Dennis (S.T.E.M.), Mrs. Schwader (S.T.E.M.) and Mrs. Petersen (S.T.E.M.)!

This is our 2nd year of Afters during the school day at MOE. We’ve had new challenges each year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Our program was reinvented to fit the current needs of our students. Our top priority is to keep the students engaged in learning with hands-on activities!

We accomplished that by introducing  S.T.E.A.M. activities. All 494 students (K-5) are provided equitable access to these interactive lessons two times per month (26 Art/26 STEM).

MOE STUDENTS LOVE S.T.E.A.M.!

Meet Me in the Middle is new this school year at CMS. To assist with learning loss that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, support is available during lunch to the end of the day! This gives students a choice of learning environment. They or their teachers can request help in their classroom, in a small group or 1 on 1.*

Our goal is to reintroduce critical thinking skills. We also help them work on overdue assignments, complete daily homework, study skills and Skyward assistance.
