Local Students Honored with Prestigious Music Scholarships 

Chelan, WA – The Valley Winds Community Concert Band and the Bob Myers Memorial Scholarship
Fund are proud to announce the recipients of this year’s youth music scholarships, recognizing
outstanding student musicians from throughout the region for their dedication, talent, and promise in the
field of music.

Valley Winds Concert Band Summer Youth Music Scholarship
Scholarship funds are raised through donations at seasonal concerts with the support of Chinook Music
of East Wenatchee, WA. Each awardee receives $300 to support their continued musical growth over the
summer. This year’s recipients are all percussionists and active performing members of the Valley Winds
Community Concert Band:

• Adele Esmond, Cashmere High School Band Percussionist, Funds to Support Summer Music
  Camp
• Daniela Ochoa Bernal, Chelan High School Percussionist, Funds to Support Summer Music
  Lessons
• Emily Pulsifer, Brewster High School Band Percussionist, Funds to Support Band Camp for
  Eastern Washington University Marching Band

Bob Myers Memorial Music Scholarship
Established in memory of longtime music supporter, musician, and lifelong trumpeter Bob Myers. This
scholarship honors students who demonstrate excellence and commitment to instrumental music and is
funded by the generous donation of the Myers Family. This year’s recipients include:

• Edmund Moore – $400
  Chelan Middle School 6th Grade Tuba Player, Funds to Support Summer Music Lessons
• Eli Becerril – $600
  Chelan High School Trumpet Player, Graduating Class of 2025, Funds to Support Summer Music
  Camp, Funds to Support Summer Music Lessons

These scholarships not only recognize the musical achievements of these students but also help support
their future endeavors in the arts. The Valley Winds Community Concert Band, the Myers Family, and the
Communities of Chelan, Cashmere, and Brewster extend their congratulations and continued
encouragement to all recipients.
