LCSD Board Minutes 09/09/25 – Board Work Session

SPECIAL BOARD WORKSHOP

MINUTES

DATE: September 9, 2025

TIME: 4:30 pm

LOCATION: 309 E Johnson Ave., Chelan, WA 988126

WORKSHOP SESSION

  • Call to Order

Kim Thorpe called the meeting to order at 4:30pm.

  • Review of WSSDA General Assembly Items

The board reviewed the WSSDA General Assembly proposals in the General Assembly Handbook. Discussion was held to determine the board’s position on each proposal, which Director Fuller will represent at the September 20th WSSDA General Assembly.

  • Review of Board Meeting Yearly Planner

Board members and Superintendent Wilson reviewed the yearly board meeting planner. Discussion was held on the yearly schedule of presentations. The Board expressed appreciation for presentations that stay within the allotted time, presentations that include students, and presentations that include informative data. The board will hold one meeting only in the months of December, July, and August unless circumstances dictate otherwise.

  • Review of LCSD Strategic Plan areas, progress, and needs

The Board reviewed the LCSD Strategic Plan scorecard and noted improvement in seven out of ten metrics. The Board desires to see a continued focus on all areas being at or above state average. As the current strategic plan sunsets in 2026, the Board would like to see review and refinement of the existing plan goal areas rather than a comprehensive new plan that starts from scratch.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

  • To discuss the qualifications of an applicant for public employment and/or review the performance of a public employee with no action to be taken. RCW42.30.110

Kim moved the board to the executive session at 6:50 pm for approximately 15 minutes with no action to be taken.

ADJOURNMENT

Kim Thorpe reconvened the board to regular session and adjourned the meeting at 7:03 pm.
