Power Outage Update @ CHS/CMS- 05/23/2021

Dear LCSD Families

The purpose of this correspondence is to update you regarding the power outage that occurred at the Middle/High
School this past Friday.

After speaking with our HVAC specialist earlier today, I was informed that the motors that run our air conditioning and
exhaust systems were damaged and are not operational in several sections of the building. Parts have been ordered
and we expect the air exchange system to be restored by Wednesday and the air conditioning to be operational by
Friday.

Despite this unfortunate news, we have a couple of things in our favor. The weather is forecasted to be in the low 70’s
allowing us to leave the doors and windows open which will augment fresh air circulation throughout the building. In
addition, students are currently not on a fulltime schedule.

I will follow-up with you as this situation is resolved.
